Instructions:
Microsoft Windows
1.) To download a desktop background image, click on an image resolution
size listed under the image that bests matches your computer screen's
resolution. This will open a new browser window with the image displayed
in it.
2.) Save the background image file to your computer disk, by selecting
in the browser window menu, File->Save As... to save the file
to your computer.
3.) To install the image as your computer desktop background, you
need to set the background image in the Windows OS 'Display Properties'
dialog window. You can do this by, right mouse clicking on your
desktop and select menu item Active Desktop->Customize my desktop.
This opens the 'Display Properties' dialog window. Alternatively,
you can open the 'Display Properties' dialog window by going to
the Start Menu. Then select 'Settings'. Then select 'Control Panel'.
Then select 'Display'.
4.) In the 'Display Properties' dialog window, select the 'Background'
tab. In the background properties, select 'Browse' and select the
image you downloaded to your disk.
5.) Select 'stretch' as the 'Picture Display' option in the 'Display
Properties' dialog window.
6.) Select 'Apply' and then 'OK'.
Mac OS X
1.) To download a desktop background image, click on an image resolution
size listed under the image that bests matches your computer screen's
resolution. This will open a new browser window with the image displayed
in it.
2.) Save the background image file to your computer disk, by selecting
in the browser window menu, File->Save As... to save the file
to your computer. Make sure you put the downloaded image in a folder
by itself or in a folder with other background images only.
3.) To install the image as your computer desktop background, you
need to set the image folder in system preferences and choose the
image file in that folder. To do so, do the following. Open the
System Preferences -> Desktop dialog window. To open the Desktop
dialog window, open System Preferences by going to the Apple Menu,
select 'System Preferences...'. Then select the Desktop icon.
4.) In the Desktop dialog window, select the 'Collections' drop
down and select 'Choose Folder...' to choose the folder you downloaded
the background image into. Browse to the folder you downloaded the
image to. Select 'Choose'. This will close the file chooser dialog
and then display all of the images in the folder in the Desktop
dialog window.
5.) In the Desktop dialogs, select the picture of the image you
want to make as your background image.
6.) Select 'Fill Screen' as the option in the Rendering type drop
down.
7.) Close the Desktop dialog window by quitting System Preferences.
As an option, you can also display several background images in
sequence using the 'Change Picture' option in the Display dialog
window. |
